Hopefully all the way to the bottom to the canal

The Parish Council are working hard to alleviate the messy path at the bottom of the allotments during the creation of the Community Corner. Due to heavy rain this has been even muddier and extra work on the drainage down the path has added to this.

Disruption on the grassy area at the top of Noyna Avenue (the entrance to the allotments) which has been used as a space for skips and deliveries has been kept to a minimum. All precautions have been taken to preserve the area by the landscape gardener and we are happy that he has managed to do this, but it has come to our attention that in the last week there have been other vehicles driving on the grass and churning up the mud. We would like residents to be aware that this has nothing to do with the work on the Community Corner.

Not a problem, the gardener had worked so hard in all kinds of weather. He deserves a medal. Hope the garden is well used when its finnished.

Please pass this on to family, friends, neighbours etc especially for those who are vulnerable or not computer savvy.

Good Afternoon

The Economic Crime Unit at Lancashire Police would like to make you aware of a video in relation to Impersonation Fraud.

Impersonation Fraud is when a fraudster contacts a victim impersonating professional people such as The Police, HMRC or The Bank. The fraudster will then convince the victim that their money is under attack, or that they owe money and payment is needed. Victims will then send the money away, purchase items or go into a bank and withdraw the money and send to the fraudster via a courier, never to be seen again.

The Bank, The Police and HMRC will never contact you asking you to pay outstanding debt, or to withdraw money and send to a safe account. Please click on the link below or copy it into your web browser to watch the video which has been produced by The Metropolitan Police Service

YW contacted and they say they will have someone out to check the drain covers between High Lane and Warehouse Lane sometime within the next 7 days. I have a reference number and they have said they will update me with what action they will be taking. I will update when I get any more information.

Yes they know it goes down to the canal and I also pointed out the influx of more wagons due to building work and YW upgrading sewage works

Something needs doing with the two grates on warehouse Lane between station Road and Pendle polymer as surrounding tarmac disintegrating fast I was told they were Yorkshire water xx

m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2695498470474955&id=100000444863669Reports of suspicious males selling fish door to door to vulnerable members of the public in Trawden, Barnoldswick & Foulridge.

Vehicle located in Trawden and 3 males arrested on suspicion of burglary. The vehicle was seized for S.165 as not correct level of business insurance being used.

These fish men are definitely NOT OFF THE HOOK.

Hopefully some GILL-ty pleas

No more FISHY business going on in Trawden.

Jokes are starting to wear a bit fin.

If you can think of any better fish jokes or any suspicious vehicles let MINNOW!

Probably to get you out of house

Great work !! They have been doing it for some time I think in various places.

They were here on Alma Ave yesterday. I did think it was weird they'd parked further down the road and asked me if I wanted to come and buy some fish rather than outside my house

There have been a number of reports concerning a male harassing vulnerable people within the community purporting to be a fishmonger.

Earlier today, a white male described as tall and of stocky build entered an elderly woman’s property in Barnoldswick without permission, and has harassed her to buy fish from him. He has then demanded £200, and when she has declined, has taken money from her purse and left the property.

We are doing everything we can to locate this man, and we ask the public to remain vigilant and keep a close eye on elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may otherwise not see this message. If you see anything suspicious, please report it to us online or on 101.

Remember, if a crime is happening now and there is a threat to life, it’s 999.

Just recently there has been two incidents of damage at this location. The bottom metal panel at the side of the slide has been kicked at the bottom, buckling it. The parish council handyman has taken it off and straightened it once but it has occurred again.
We ask that local residents be vigilant please and contact the parish council if they see or hear anything untoward. Thank you.

Do you think everyone who gets the newsletter is on Facebook ?

As you are probably aware, Foulridge Village hall will be used as an election
polling station on Thursday 12th December. Unfortunately this coincides with
the annual residents’ over 60’s Christmas lunch.
To alleviate any fears that it will be cancelled, please rest assured that the lunch
will take place but not on that day. The Parish Council is in discussions as to alternative arrangements.
Please keep a look out on facebook, the website and other media outlets as to
the new date which should hopefully be known on Friday or Saturday.
