This special lunch was held on Thurs 21st November and was a great success. Around 14 residents attended the coffee morning and book swap prior to the lunch and there were 21 for lunch. This included the 4 trophy winners for Best Kept Garden and Best Kept Garden runner-up plus Cllr Law-Riding and Cllr Whitfield.
Cllr Nicholson and Stewart and Susan Burnett had worked hard to finish the Christmas decorations to make it extra special and the hall looked very festive.
Thank you to Cllr Nicholson who did us proud by producing a lovely lunch and dessert and thank you also to Susan Burnett and Cllr Howson who worked their socks off by waiting on tables and washing up etc.
There was a free raffle with 5 prizes and the presentation of the trophies:
Congratulations went to Jackie and Jeff Kitchen who were awarded the Best Kept Garden trophy for their quite small but perfectly formed and brilliantly designed 3 tiered garden in Towngate;
Congratulations also went to Anne and David Meachem for their manicured and well thought out garden in Burwains Avenue. They were awarded the trophy for Best Kept Garden Runner-Up.
It was hard work but it was made worth while when residents said they had such a lovely time, congratulated all those involved and really appreciated the work that had been put into making the day a great success.
