     POWER CUT THREATENED PENSIONERS LUNCH!

The annual Foulridge Christmas lunch on 14th December 2017 was, as usual a great success despite the threat of a power cut to half of the village for ‘essential updates’ on this particular day!  The electric board met with Councillors to assure them that it would not affect the village hall for their lunch much to their relief.
Councillor Nicholson again, took on the enormous task of organising this annual event; decorating the village hall, ordering the catering; gifts for everyone and the entertainment.
The excellent 3 course Christmas dinner was served piping hot by Diane’s Catering and entertainment was by ‘The Fabulous Miss G’ with music, singing and a touch of humour. With a sherry on arrival and the wine flowing freely everyone was in a party mood.
After lunch, trophies were awarded for Best Kept Garden, Runner up Best Garden and Most Improved Allotment. The Best Allotment winner was unable to attend. Thank you also to behind the scene helpers who attended.
